Michael & Casey Burgess (License #2708)

Owners

Michael and Casey, both born and raised in Lancaster, believe strongly in service to their community. Michael, licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer, has served families with Burgess Funeral Home since 1999, while his wife Casey, has taught many students at North Elementary School and Buford Elementary School.

Michael and Casey are both very active in their community and church. They are members of High Point Baptist. Michael is also a Past Master of Masonic Lodge # 316, a member for the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, Care Health Center board member, and previously served on Habitat for Humanity board.

Evelyn Finch (License #2831)

Funeral Director and Pre-need Consultant

Evelyn is a Licensed Funeral Director and Pre-need Consultant. Evelyn is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with Highest Honors. She is a member of the Women of the Moose, the Lancaster Shag Club and Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church.

Evelyn loves to shag and enjoys relaxing at the beach.

Allison Massey Faulkenberry (Lic #3865)

General Manager/Funeral Director Apprentice

Allison is a Funeral Director Apprentice. She is also a Funeral Assistant, assists families in making funeral arrangements, manages Burgess Memorials and helps families in designing and purchasing cemetery monuments and markers.

Allison is married to Greg Faulkenberry and together they have three children, Andrew, Liza, and Levi. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, camping, gardening, and is a Gamecock fan. Allison and Greg attend Bethlehem Baptist Church.

David Lee Metzler (License #4239)

Funeral Director/Embalmer

David was raised in Lancaster, SC and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1988. He started in the funeral service in 1996 working funerals and doing things around the Funeral Home. David served an apprenticeship for Funeral Directing and Embalming. He graduated from Piedmont Technical College in 2017 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science with a Major in Funeral Service.

David sees the funeral service as a calling and truly loves helping families in there time of need. He is dedicated to offering each family we serve the utmost in compassion and professionalism.

David is married to Janet Bowers Metzler and they have one daughter, Jessica Garris and her husband, Dillon, and their daughter, Paisley Rose.

David and his family are members of Second Baptist Church. He enjoys spending time with his family, and going to the beach.

He is a member of the Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce and a member of the South Carolina Funeral Directors Association.

Billy Ray Snipes, Jr.

Funeral Assistant

Billy serves the firm as our Funeral Assistant. He is dedicated to offering every family we serve the utmost in compassion and professionalism.

Billy is married to Wendy P. Snipes and they have two children, Taylor and Bryson. Billy and his family are members of Second Baptist Church Lancaster.

Kathy Blackmon (Lic #4065)

Funeral Director Apprentice

Kathy is a Funeral Director Apprentice. She assists families in making funeral arrangements. Kathy also assists with Burgess Memorials, where she helps families in designing and purchasing cemetery monuments and markers. She has an associate's degree in Secretarial Science/Business Management from York Technical College.

Kathy is a widow and has a daughter, Madison, and her husband, Steven, a son, Hunter and his wife, Gracie, and one granddaughter, Aria. She enjoys spending time with her family.

Karah Hartley Ward (Lic #4269)

Funeral Director Apprentice

Karah is a Funeral Director Apprentice. She assists families in making funeral arrangements. Karah is the daughter of Bo Hartley and the late Donna Galloway Hartley. She married her high school sweetheart, Zach, in October 2020 . Karah enjoys shopping and spending time with her family.

Randall Couch

Funeral Assistant/Crematory Supervisor

Randall works part time with the firm as a Funeral Assistant and Crematory Supervisor. He is dedicated to offering every family we serve the utmost in compassion and professionalism.

Randall is a retiree of Duke Energy and a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church.

Randall and Teresa Couch

Visitation Coordinators

Randall and Teresa work closely with our families during evening visitations. They help manage and provide a comfortable and efficient atmosphere for our families and their guests by taking care of any needs that may arise during these public visitation times. Teresa also works as a Funeral Assistant.

Teresa and Randall have a son-in-law, David Garris and a grandson, Dillon Garris and his wife, Jessica. Their daughter, Dana, passed away in 2016. Randall is a retiree of Duke Energy. Teresa retired from Lancaster Memorial Park. They are members of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church.

Bo Hartley

Part Time Funeral Assistant

Bo works full time with Comporium Communications and works as a part time funeral assistant. Bo is married to Jennifer Moore Hartley and together they have four children. Bo and Jennifer are members of Covenant Baptist Church.

Harold Outen

Part Time Funeral Assistant

Harold serves as a Part Time Funeral Assistant and is dedicated to providing the upmost in compassion and care to our families.

Harold and his wife Jean also help manage night visitations. They work to provide a comfortable and efficient atmosphere for our families and their guests by taking care of any needs that may arise during these public visitation times. Harold loves playing golf in his free time.

Harold and Jean have two children and are members of Calvary Baptist Church.
