LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Atha Yvonne "Bon" Rowell Hough , age 87, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at her home.  She was born March 23, 1934 in Lancaster, SC the daughter of the late Lewis Lestial Rowell and Mayme Estelle Funderburk Rowell and was the wife of the late Max Edward Hough. Yvonne enjoyed sewing, cooking, and working in her flowers. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and worked with the Boy Scouts. Yvonne was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels where she loved giving back to others. Yvonne was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church where she served for many years and where she attended circle meetings for the United Methodist Women, mission teams, and sang in the choir.

Yvonne is survived by two sons, Chris Hough (Sheila), and Tim Hough (Ann Jackson) of Greensboro, NC; a daughter, Tami Hough; four grandchildren, Jamie Hough (Andrew Broome), Bradley Hough, Alicia Berry (Drew), and Tod Williams; six great grandchildren, Greyer Broome, Lo Berry, Nayeli Hydrick, Max Broome, Ella Broome, M.J. Williams; many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Max Edward Hough, her parents Lewis and Mayme Rowell; two brothers, Lloyd Harold Rowell, and Joe Less Rowell; four sisters, Lou Doris Jenkins, Willa Clyde Funderburk, Geraldine Robinson, and Midge Brooks.

The Celebration of Life Service for Yvonne will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 28, 2021 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Dale Walters. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Burgess Funeral Home.
