LANCASTER, SC :::::::::::Mrs. Willie Mae Watts Spanski age 88, departed this life on Friday evening, March 16, 2012 at the Odd Fellow Home in Lynchburg Virginia. She was born December 7, 1923 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Richard A. Watts and Queen Baker Watts and was the wife of the late Gordon Emerson Spanski. Mrs. Spanski was an avocate of the less fortunate and supported the Humane Society of the United States, she worked for the U.S. Air Force and J. P. Stevens before she retired and was a member of Lynnwood United Methodist Church. Mrs. Spanski is survived by a son Paul G. Spanski and his wife Colanda M. Spanski 5 grandchildren Charity, Christopher, Carissa ,Matthew and Amy, a brother Glenn Watts and his wife Peggy . Mrs. Spanski was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Spanski Bassoff, 2 sons, Mark Spanski and Frank Spanski, 2 sisters, Grace Bowers, Ruth Ray, 3 brothers Ray Watts, J. W. Watts and Frank Watts. The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mrs. Spanski will be 3:00 pm, Monday March 19, 2012 at Lancaster Memorial Park.The Family of Mrs. Spanski will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Hartley Funeral Home and memorials be made to Lynnwood United Methodist Church or to the Humane Society.
