MT. CROGHAN, SC ::::::::::: Mrs. Willie Mae Evans Boykin, age 85, of Hwy. 109, died March 17, 2011. Mrs. Boykin was born in Florence County, the daughter of the late Rev. J.E. Evans and Elsie Marie Knight Evans and was the wife of the late William Yancy Boykin. Mrs. Boykin retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Lancaster. Mrs. Boykin is survived by 3 sons, Rev. John Boykin and his wife Nancy of Lancaster, Joseph W. Boykin and William E. Boykin both of Mt. Croghan, a daughter, Patricia Maslin and her husband Eric of Pageland, 2 brothers, Thomas Evans of Andrews, NC and Walter Evans of Chesterfield, a sister, Margaret Baker of Lancaster, 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Mrs. Boykin was preceded in death by 5 sons, William, Billy Ray, Thomas E., Charles E, and James A. Boykin, a daughter, Betty Jean Boykin, 3 brothers, Edward, Roy, and Raymond Evans and a sister, Elizabeth Phillips.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Boykin will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Church of God of Prophecy by Rev. Ted Tinker, Rev. Brian King, and Rev. David Casper. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mrs. Boykin will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Friday, March 18, 2011 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggests memorials may be made to Church of God of Prophecy, 1677 Alpha Road, Lancaster SC 29720.
