LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mr. William Walter Wheeler, age 93, died Monday, September 15, 2014 at his home. He was born May 24, 1921 in Camden, the son of the late Grover Cleveland Wheeler and Effie Hammond Wheeler and was the husband of the late Edna Louise Baker Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler retired from Springs Industries and Center Parts, was a member of Taylors Grove Baptist Church and served our great country in the US Army during World War II.
Mr. Wheeler is survived by a son, Grover Wheeler of Lancaster, 2 daughters, Cindy Broughton of Fort Lawn and Myra Rowell and her husband Donald of Lancaster, 8 grandchildren; James Broughton, Chrystal Carter, Matthew Wheeler, Nicholas Wheeler, Jennifer Starnes, Kevin Rowell, Alex Rowell, and Jonathan Rowell and 13 great grandchildren.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Wheeler will be 2:00 pm, Friday, September 19, 2014 at Taylors Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Tommy Howell and Rev. Keith Walters. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC and suggest memorials to Taylors Grove Baptist Church, Building Fund, 2382 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720 or Home Care and Hospice of Lancaster, 902 W.
