LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. William Jerry Turner, age 76, died Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born March 10, 1937 in Great Falls, SC and was the son of the late Arthur Turner and Thelma Rollins Turner and was the husband of Clara Taylor Turner. Mr. Turner retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.
Mr. Turner is survived by his wife, Clara Taylor Turner, three sons, Jerry Turner and his wife Susan of Statesville, NC, Hugh Turner and his wife Kelli of Kershaw, and Richard Turner and his wife Laurie of Naples, FL, a daughter, Linda Welling and her husband Jon also of Naples, FL, a sister in law, Mary Ellen Turner of Lancaster and twelve grandchildren, Will Turner and his wife Chrissy, Hannah Walker, Matthew Turner, Casey Clendenin, Taylor Clendenin, Kristen Woronowski and her husband Aaron, Kyle Turner and his wife Stacy, Scott Turner, Christopher Welling and Tiffany DiMaggio and her husband Paul, Frank Welling and his wife Tamera and Eric Welling and his wife Kelly Elizabeth, and six great grandchildren, Jackson and Chase Woronowski, Benjamin Turner, Corbin Welling and Ashlyn and Dylan DiMaggio.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Turner, Jr., Donnie Turner and Jimmy Turner.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Turner will be 3:00 pm Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Hopewell United Methodist Church by Rev. David Inman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
