LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. William "Bill" Hiram Steele, age 83, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, at his home. He was born October 15, 1938, in Lancaster, a son of the late Odell Steele Sr. and Ola Cunningham Steele and was the husband of Moqueetta "Tina" Parnell Steele. Mr. Steele proudly served our county in The United States Air Force for 23 years. Once he retired, he enjoyed woodwork, saving money, and became an avid golfer.

Mr. Steele is survived by his wife of 42 years; Tina Steele; two sons, Michael Steele (Kim), and Danny Shearin (Debbie); two daughters, Teri Hamilton (Barry), and Tessa Wiggins (Rusty Jr.); son-in-law, Peter Scholl; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Douglas, and Joan Brant (Tom); and one brother, Odell Steele Jr. (Betsy).

Mr. Steele was preceded in death by his daughter, LaDonna Scholl; his parents; and a brother-in-law, Phil Douglas.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Steele will be 3:00 pm Monday, February 21, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by a special family member, Lee Price. Burial will follow at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
