LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. William Richard Sims, age 54, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was born September 12, 1959 in Monroe, NC, the son of Frances Blackmon Sims Brazell and the late William Harold Sims and was the husband of Janet Stevens Sims. Mr. Sims was a self employed Paint Contactor and a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast.

Mr. Sims is survived by his mother, Frances Sims Brazell, his wife, Janet Stevens Sims, and his stepson, James Plyler all of Lancaster.

Mr. Sims was preceded in death by a son, William Richard Sims, II and a brother, Harold E. "Eddie" Sims.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Sims will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Pleasant Dale Baptist Church by Rev. Jesse Adams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The Family of Mr. Sims will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Monday, October 28, 2013 at Burgess Funeral Home and the family suggests memorials be made to Pleasant Dale Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 133 S. Potter Road, Lancaster SC 29720.
