HEATH SPRINGS, SC :::::::: Mr. William Guy Powers, age 89, died Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Agape Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC. He was born May 29, 1922 in Lancaster SC, the son of the late Will Powers and Elizabeth Powers and was the husband of Mavis Hunter Powers. Mr. Powers retired from Springs Industries, and was a member of Union Baptist Church and served our great country in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Powers is survived by his wife Mavis Hunter Powers of the home. 1 daughter, Donna Powers Riley of Lancaster, SC, 2 grandchildren, Jonathan Scott and Kevin Riley, 2 great grandchildren, Justin and Logan Riley. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Powers will be 3:00 pm. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Union Baptist Church by Rev. Jackie Jenkins and Rev. Donald Waldrop. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family of Mr. Powers will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall and in lieu of flowers and suggest memorials to Union Baptist Church, 5003 Taxahaw Road, Lancaster SC, 29720.
