LANCASTER, SC :::::::::: Mr. William "Bill" E. Plyler, age 61, of 154 Brooklyn Avenue, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at his home. He was born August 15, 1947 in Lancaster, the son of the late Lewis Richard Plyler and Athlee Gamble Plyler and was the husband of Debra Kay McCorkle Plyler. He was a past member of the Lancaster Lions Club and the American Legion, was of the Pentecostal faith, and served our great country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.Mr. Plyler is survived by his wife, Debra Kay McCorkle Plyler of Lancaster, 4 sons, William E. Plyler, Jr., Ben Howard Plyler, Anthony Lewis Plyler, and Timothy David Plyler, 2 daughters, Ashley Dawn Bridges and Sallie Anne Plyler all of Lancaster, 2 brothers, Tony Plyler of Lancaster and Lewis Richard Plyler, Jr. of FL., a sister, Patricia Beckham of Lancaster, and 6 grandchildren.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Plyler will be 4:00 pm Friday, May 22, 2009 at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Calvin Snipes and Rev. Bill Morris. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday evening, May 21, 2009 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 412 N. White Street, Suite A, Lancaster, SC 29720.
