LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::Mr. William Porter "Bill" Howze, Jr., age 53, of 4029 Hurley Walters Road, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009. He was born June 20, 1955 in Lancaster County, the son of Elizabeth Aycock Howze and the late William Porter Howze, Sr. and was the husband of Margaret Deas Howze. Mr. Howze owned and operated Howze Grocery and Howze Motor Company #2 for more than 20 years, was a former member of the Lancaster Moose Lodge, and a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. Mr. Howze is survived by his wife, Margaret Deas Howze of the home, his mother, Elizabeth A. "Lib" Howze of Lancaster, 2 sons, Mitchell Collins and his wife Tammy and William P. Howze III and his wife Jennifer both of Lancaster, a sister, Rebecca Eswara of Lancaster, and 4 grandchildren, Meghan Collins, Brooke Howze, Brock Howze, and Zayne Howze.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Howze will be 11:00 am Friday, March 20, 2009 at Hopewell United Methodist Church by Rev. Steve Patterson with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Family of Mr. Howze will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center and suggest memorial contributions be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church, Family Life Center,3734 Heyward Hough Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or to Agape Hospice, 1317 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
