LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::Mr. William "Bill" Pickney Ghent, age 54, of 8931 Collins Road, Indian Land, died Saturday, August 16, 2008. He was born in May 11, 1954 in Lancaster County, the son the late Steve Ghent, Jr. and Leila Harper Ghent and was the husband of Zelda Collins Ghent. Mr. Ghent was employed with Prologic in Fort Mill and was of the Baptist faith.Mr. Ghent is survived by his wife, Zelda Collins Ghent of the home, a son, William D. Ghent of Winnsboro, 2 daughters, Tammie Ghent Jones and her husband Tim of Indian Land and Sandi Ghent Fields and her husband Brian of Rock Hill, a brother, Steve Ghent III and his wife Wanda of Lancaster, a sister, LaRue Ghent Baker of Columbia, 5 grandchildren, Dora, Deanna, and Ashlyn Jones and Jessie and Erin Fields, and a special cousin, Roberta Blackmon.Mr. Ghent was preceded in death by a special nephew, Alex Ghent.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Ghent will be 11:00 am, Tuesday morning, August 19, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tammie Jones and Mr. Larry Collins with burial to follow at Center Grove Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Indian Land. The Family of Mr. Ghent will receive friends one hour before the service, from 10:00 - 11:00 am Tuesday morning and suggest memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Lancaster County, PO Box 190, Lancaster, SC 29721.
