LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. William "Fred" Adams, age 91, died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at White Oak Manor. He was born October 29, 1921 in Lancaster County, the son of the late Jasper Adams and Edna Plyler Adams and was the husband of Margaret Walters Adams. Mr. Adams was the Owner and Operator of Adams Barber Shop, served our great country in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Margaret W. Adams of the home, 2 daughters, Karen West and her husband Clyde and Kathy Pinyan both of Marietta, GA, a son, David Prevatt and his wife Debbie of Leesburg, FL, 2 brothers, Bobby G. Adams and Clarence Adams both of Lancaster, 3 step brothers, Donald, Carson, and Wally, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a special niece, Carolyn Parsons Pardue and her husband Davis, a special nephew, Daniel Parsons, and a special friend Annette Adkins all of Lancaster.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Rev. Melvin Adams, James Adams and Odell Adams and a sister, Myrtle A. Mangum.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Adams will be 2:00 pm Thursday, April 25, 2013 at First Baptist Church by Rev. Randy Hatcher. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The Family of Mr. Adams will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Hartley Burgess Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions to First Baptist Church, PO Box 670, Lancaster, SC 29721.
