LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::Mr. William Y. Emanuel, age 77, of 985 Sherwood Circle, died Friday, October 3, 2008 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. He was born January 08, 1931 in Lancaster, the son of the late Philip Emanuel and Mary Hough Emanuel and was the husband of Betty Burriss Emanuel. Mr. Emanuel was a retired Engineer and Director of Sales for Pump & Lighting Company in Charlotte, NC, was a Charter member of Covenant Baptist Church and served our great country in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Emanuel was survived by his wife, Betty B. Emanuel of the home, a daughter, Anne E. Moran of Tega Cay, SC, a son, Benji Gregory of Lancaster, a brother, Emil "Son" Emanuel of Lancaster, and 3 grandchildren, Vickie Moran, Dru Gregory, and Nina Gregory. Mr. Emanuel was preceded in death by a son, Will Emanuel, a daughter, Mandy Emanuel Gregory, and 2 brothers, Philip Emanuel and Ben Emanuel.The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mr. Emanuel will be 3:00 pm, Monday afternoon, October 6, 2008 at Lancaster Memorial Park by Dr. Bert Welch with burial to follow. The Family of Mr. Emanuel will receive friends at the home and immediately following the service.
