LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::Mr. William "Bill" Galloway Crawford, age 88, of 1115 Laurel Avenue, died Friday, December 19, 2008 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born January 28, 1920 in Fort Lawn, the son of the late John Oats Crawford and Maurice Gardner Crawford and was the husband of Betty Threatt Crawford. Mr. Crawford retired from Springs Industries - Grace Bleachery, served our great country in the United States Air Force during World War II, and was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.Mr. Crawford is survived by his wife, Betty Threatt Crawford of the home, 2 daughters, Barbara C. Robinson and her husband Rocky of Lancaster and Peggy C. Maiorano and her husband Lee of Davidson, NC, 4 brothers, John O. Crawford Jr. of Lancaster, Leonard Crawford of Fort Lawn, Davis "Buddy" Crawford of Catawba, and Lewis Crawford of Fort Lawn, 2 sisters, Irene Young of Fort Lawn and Glenda Allen of Catawba, 4 grandchildren, Alex Robinson, Tracy Rabon, Christa Maiorano and Kelsey Maiorano, and 2 great grandchildren, Sydney and Autumn Rabon.Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Crawford and a sister, Mary C. Steele.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Crawford will be 3:00 pm Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Russ Wimmer with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mr. Crawford will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, Sunday afternoon, December 21, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Hospice of South Carolina, 412 N.
