LANCASTER, SC ~ Wilhelmina Cooper, age 90, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, born on October 16, 1935, in Andrews, SC, a daughter of the late William Benjamin “W.B.” Cooper and the late Mary Olivia Wilson Cooper.
She will be remembered most for the love she had for her family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She loved the Lord, was of the Baptist faith, and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Her faith and devotion were an important part of her life.
Wilhelmina found peace and happiness tending to her flower gardens. She loved to watch the birds that gathered nearby and enjoyed identifying them with her bird books. Wilhelmina also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and was an avid sports fan, though nothing brought her more excitement than cheering on the Atlanta Braves. She also liked to keep an eye on things and was known for lovingly supervising others while they worked.
She also shared a special bond with her beloved fur-baby, Lucy, who held a treasured place in her heart. Wilhelmina’s love for her family, faith, and simple joys in life will be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved her.
Wilhelmina is survived by her daughters, Lori Manus (Darryl) and Teresa Yoder (special friend, Tim); four beloved grandchildren, Miranda Amos (Justin), Heather Mackey (Corey), Justin Haile (Taylor), and Anna Grace Taylor (Chase); nine adored great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Porter, Karter, Kollin, Ronnie Willa, Preston, Hensley, Harlan, Kohl, and one on the way, Kurzie; her brother, Rudolph Plowden “Bubba” Cooper; a sister, Mary Sue Byrdic; a very special niece, Vivian Beckham; and many more special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Cooper and Rhoda Lane Cudd; and her parents, W.B. and Mary Cooper.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Antioch Baptist Church of Lancaster, SC, officiated by Pastor Cotton Pate and Pastor Vincent Bos.
