LANCASTER, SC :::::::::: Mr. Charles Wayne Horton, age 68, of 712 West Doc Garris Road, died Monday November 2, 2009 at his home. He was born September 2, 1941 in Lancaster County, the son of the late Lemuel Columbus "LC" Horton and Edith Pearl Cooper Horton and was the husband of Barbara Blackwell Horton. Mr. Horton retired from General Tire Company, served our great country in the Unites States Navy and was a member of Christian Assembly Worship Center. Mr. Horton is survived by his wife, Barbara Blackwell Horton of the home, a son, Charles Wayne Horton, Jr. and his wife Carla of Lancaster, 2 daughters, Pamela Horton Stevenson and her husband Randy also of Lancaster and Susan Horton Conner and her husband Ronald of Richmond, VA, 1 brother, W. H. Horton of Maggie Valley, NC, a sister, Joy Hudson of Kannapolis, NC, 8 grandchildren, C. J. Horton, Chris Horton, Carly Horton, Michael Lindsay, Matthew Lindsay, Megan Lindsay, Stephanie Conner, and Samantha Conner, and 2 step grandchildren. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Horton will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Christian Assembly Worship Center by Rev. Marvin Tennant and Rev. James Shinn with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mr. Horton will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Tuesday evening, November 3, 2009 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Christian Assembly Worship Center, 542 Highway 9 By Pass East, Lancaster, SC 29720.
