Lancaster, sc:::::: Mr. Waymon L. Newton age 65 of 506 Holiday Road died Sunday May 29, 2011 in Ripley West Virginia. He was born October 13, 1945 in Williamsburg County S.C. a son of the late John W. Newton and Mittie Martin Newton and was the husband of Cordelia "Dee Dee" Carnes Newton, Waymon was a mason with Jackson Masonic Lodge and a shriner with Hejaz Shrine Temple, and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church Mr. Newton retired from Springs Industries after 30 Years service. He and his family had traveled to West Virginia and attended their granddaughter's high school graduation. Mr. Newton is survived by his wife "Dee Dee" Carnes Newton of the home, a daughter Sharon Newton Lowery and husband Mike Lowery of Lancaster, 2 sons Mark Newton and wife Kaye of Lancaster and Rick Gainey and wife Crystal of Ripley, West Virginia8 grandchildren whom he affectionately loved and called him "Paw Paw" Michael Lowery of Charleston, S.C., Justin Lowery, Jeremy Newton, and Hunter Newton all of Lancaster, S.C. Hannah Gainey, Stephen Gainey, Seth Gainey and Ian Gainey all of Ripley, West Virginia, a brother Olin Newton and wife Brenda Newton, 2 sisters Leona Morgan and husband Rev. Bill Morgan and Sissy Allen and husband Danny Allen all of Lancaster.The Celebration of life funeral service for Mr. Newton will be 11 A.M. Wednesday morning at Bethlehem Baptist Church by the pastor Rev. Jason Myers and Rev. Reggie Hopkins, burial with Masonic rites will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hartley Funeral Home from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday Evening and other times at their home 506 Holiday Road, and suggest memorials to Bethlehem Baptist Church Building Fund, Camp Creek Baptist Church or to The Shriners Hospital in Greenville, S.C.The Family wishes to thank Casto Funeral Home in West Virginia, and Hartley Funeral Home in Lancaster for assisting in this most difficult time.
