LANCASTER, SC::::::::::Mr. Waddell "Pete" Adams, age 80, of 491 S. Potter Road, died Friday, March 19, 2010. He was born September 23, 1929 in Lancaster County, the son of the late Otis "Doc" Adams and Florence Catoe Adams and was the husband of Nancy Mangum Adams. Mr. Adams retired from Lancaster Motor Company, was a life member of VFW 5936, a life member of DAV Chapter 14, a member of Smyrna Baptist Church and served our great country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy M. Adams of the home, 2 sons, Scottie Adams and his wife Annette, Timothy "Tim" Adams and his wife Suzanne, a daughter, Wendy A. Riner and her husband Dean all of Lancaster, 6 grandchildren; Emily, Jessica and Abbey Adams, Daren Adams, Andrew and Allison Riner, 2 brothers, Horace Adams and his wife Alice of Fort Lawn, and Crawford Adams of Lancaster, and 2 sisters, Margaret Twitty and her husband JB of Kershaw, and Mable Peasley her husband Jerry of Lancaster. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Eugene "Gene" Adams and a sister, Juanita Peoples. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Adams will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 20, 2010 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home by Rev. Jesse Adams. The Family of Mr. Adams will receive friends immediately before the service from 1:00- 2:00 pm, March 20, 2010 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest in lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Pleasant Dale Baptist Church, Adult Mission Fund, 133 South Potter Road, Lancaster SC 29720.
