LANCASTER, SC:::::::Mrs. Vivian Eugenia Burgess Parker, age 82, passed away on December 22, 2016 at White Oak Manor. She is the daughter of the late Gardner Bryant Burgess and Wincie Jarrell Burgess and was the wife of the late Archie Smith Parker. Mrs. Parker began her working career in the Sewing Room of Grace Bleachery, followed by a brief role as a homemaker until she began working for the Lancaster County School District at Buford High School. Mrs. Parker was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, painting Santa Claus and angel figurines, knitting, spending time with her family, pets, and relished in everything fashion.
Mrs. Parker is survived by two daughters, Joni Parker Hegler and Kimberly Parker Blackmon and her husband, Kevin of Lancaster; a granddaughter Lyndsey Hegler; two sisters, Virginia Hardin and Bonnie Hinson and her husband, Ben; brother and sister in law, Robert Bobby Parker and his wife, Mildred; five nephews, Chucky (Susan) Hardin, Robert Bob (Heidi) Parker, Benji (Karin) Hinson, Jackie (Dale) Hinson and Greg (Melanie) Hinson; three nieces, Ginger (Kevin) Small, Beth (Mark) Johnson and Allison (Brian) Welch. Mrs. Parker was fortunate to have several life-long friends that provided much support and comfort to her; Brenda Hinson, Gloria and Steve Robinson and Betty S. Rowell.
Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie Parker; brother in laws, Dusty Johnson and Charles Hardin; sister in laws, Jenny Parker and Doris Johnson.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Parker will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church with Rev. Heather Humphries officiating. Visitation with family will follow the service in reception hall.
The family will receive friends at the home of Archie and Vivian Parker, Monday afternoon, December 26, 2016 from three oclock until five oclock. Memorials can be made to Tabernacle United Church.
