Mr. Vernon Eugene Bowers, age 74, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022, at his home. He was born March 12, 1948, a son of the late Vernon Luther Bowers and Catherine Threatt Bowers. Mr. Bowers enjoyed fishing and hunting, college football, especially Clemson, and was an avid Braves fan. He loved spending time with his granddaughter and great grandchildren. Mr. Bowers was a member of the Jackson Lodge #53 and of the Presbyterian faith.

Mr. Bowers is survived by his son, Kevin Bowers (Tara); a daughter, Sheila Moree; three grandchildren, Mikayla Jenkins Snipes (Josh), Katelyn Bowers, and Taylor Bowers; four great grandchildren, Braylie Jean Snipes, Ryder Snipes, Ashlyn Snipes, and Mackenzie Snipes; a sister, Ann Maynard; three nieces, Julie Bowers, Kim Ward, and Crystal Robinson; and two nephews, Jamie Salters, and Max Bowers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Melissa McFarland; and a brother, Max Allen Bowers.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service with Masonic Rites for Mr. Bowers will be 2:00 pm Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Lancaster Memorial Park officiated by Gwen Frasure.

The family will receive friends at Sheila's home.
