LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Vera Gainey Knight, age 86, died Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill. She was born March 25, 1927 in Jefferson, SC, the daughter of the late Arthur Lee Gainey and Arnie Elizabeth Malloy Gainey. She was the wife of the late Billie C. Knight. Mrs. Knight retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

Mrs. Knight is survived by a son, Billy C. Knight, Jr. of Union, SC, a daughter-in-law, Patrice Knight of Rock Hill, a brother, Olin D. Gainey of Lancaster, 2 sisters, Lillie C. Kee of Kershaw and Margie Steen of Lancaster, 2 grandchildren, Jason Knight and his wife Jill and Tonya Tyler, 3 step grandchildren, Michael Cody, Drew Cody and Elizabeth Cody, and 5 great grandchildren, Presley and Owen Knight, Liam, Kaleb and Eva Kate Tyler.

Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by a son, James David "Dickey" Knight, 2 brothers, Marvin Gainey and Ray Gainey, and a sister, Clara Faulkenberry.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mrs. Knight will be 11:00am, Tuesday morning, April 16, 2013 at Lancaster Memorial Park by Rev. Howard Allen. Burial will follow.

The Family of Mrs. Knight will receive friends immediately following the service and suggest memorials be made to Hospice and Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
