LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Margaret Velma Eaton Ashley, age 87, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024.  She was born October 13, 1936, in Winston Salem, NC daughter of the late Fred Eaton and Lily Hooker Eaton and was the wife of William Heyward Ashley. Mrs. Ashley enjoyed singing, fishing, camping, going to the beach, and going to yard sales. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Mrs. Ashley was a member of Restoration Church.

Mrs. Ashley is survived by her husband of 66 years, Heyward Ashley; her son, Jody Ashley (Edie); her daughter, Amber Ashley; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ashley was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Eaton; and five sisters, Evelyn Pedereo, Lorene Long, Kathleen Gwynn, Frieda Martinez, and Marie Church.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Ashley will be 2:00 pm Friday April 12, 2024, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Gerald Moss. Burial will follow at Osceola United Methodist Church Cemetery.
