LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Vaughn Waters Miller, age 87, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Lancaster Health and Rehab (Lancaster Convalescent Center).  He was born on October 12, 1931 in Saluda, SC, a son of the late John Jacob Miller and Lucia Bell Perry Miller.  Mr. Miller earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of South Carolina.  He was employed with Springs Industries Customer Service for 50 plus years as an accountant.  Mr. Miller served in the United States Air Force.  He loved walking for exercise and enjoyed reading.  His family was very special to him and he loved spending time with them.  Mr. Miller was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Mr. Miller is survived by two daughters, Andrea Ghent and her husband Joey, and Renee Finley and her husband, Todd all of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Tyler Ghent, Lizzie Ghent, Katy Ghent, Sarah Ghent, Madisson Finley, and Blake Finley; his former spouse and mother of his children, Doris Hardwick Miller; three brothers, John Miller and his wife, Donna of Aiken, SC, Hilton Miller and his wife, Jean of Saluda, SC , and Roger Miller and his wife, Barbara of Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister, Lola Aull of Lexington, SC; and a sister-in-law, Bobbie Miller of Aiken, SC.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Travis Miller, Smith Miller, and Ansel Miller.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Miller will be 4:00 pm, Friday, March 29, 2019 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev Charles Phillips.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 pm, following the service, at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy, Lancaster, SC and suggest memorial contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1664 Flat Creek Rd., Lancaster, SC 29720.
