LANCASTER, SC::::::::: Mr. Van Eugene Hinson, age 72, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. He was born November 8, 1944 in Lancaster, the son of the late Ira Hinson and Nettie Morgan Hinson and step-father, Clarence Powers. He retired from Springs Industries where he worked in the Research Development Lab and Quality Control. Mr. Hinson loved his dog, Miss Tootie and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed music, the beach, and working in his yard. Mr. Hinson was a humble and kind man and friend to all. He was a member of at Grace Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Hinson is survived by a brother, Robert Hinson of Heath Springs; two sisters, Iva Helms and her husband, Robert of Monroe, NC and Glenda Adams and her husband, Cecil of Lancaster; and a special niece, Jennifer Jackson and her husband, James.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Hinson will be held at a later date.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Crestview Baptist Church, 2228 Douglas Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
