LANCASTER, SC::::::::: Mr. Tracy Scott Allison, age 73, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, Thursday, December 8, 2016. He was born January 14, 1943 in Bay City, Texas and grew up in Fort Scott, Kansas. Scott was the son of the late Norval Alexander Allison and Grace Elizabeth Allen Allison. Mr. Allison was the husband of Joanne G. Allison.
Scott graduated in 1965 with a Political Science Degree with a minor in History from Pittsburgh State University of Pittsburgh, KS. He joined and served our great country in the United States Air Force from 1965-1969 as a Voice Intercept Processing Specialist. Scott retired from his career in the Telecommunications Industries in 2013. Scott loved history, architectural designs, traveling and was curious about everything. His hobby was cutting colored gemstones.
Scott is survived by his wife of 16 years, Joanne G. Allison; a stepson, Christopher Smith and his wife, Ellen of Birmingham, Alabama; two step grandchildren, Lauren and Chris Wetzel and Jared Odom from Birmingham, AL; a great step-grandson, Reed Alan Wetzel; Mark and Jeanne Nellis, a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law from Charlotte; Sheila Melvin; a sister-in-law from Murry, KY, Dillard and Carolyn Hicks, brother-in-law and sister-in-law from Murray, KY; two nephews, Patrick Hicks from Murray, KY and James Paschall from Nashville, TN; a niece, Brandi Corbin from Florence, KY; a great nephew, Benjamin Corbin; a great niece and two great-great nephews.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathy Jean Dunham.
The family will hold a memorial service for Scott Allison at 3:00 pm Saturday, December 10, 2016 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC by Rev. Lynn Hough.
