LANCASTER, SC::::::::::: Mr. Tony Michael McAteer, age 57, died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born May 26, 1958 in Lancaster, a son of the late Billy Ray McAteer and Lucy Jane Polston McAteer. He was a painter and previously worked with Ralph Starnes Painting in Monroe. He loved to fish, enjoyed racing, site seeing and was of the Presbyterian faith.

Mr. McAteer is survived by two brothers, Timmy McAteer and his wife, Penny of Lancaster and Mike Pete of Ferndale, FL; and five sisters, Dale Whitaker and her husband, Gary, Debbie Lucas and her husband, Jim, Patty Estridge and her husband, Nookie, Michelle Barrett and her husband, Scott all of Lancaster and Diane Stover of Ferndale, FL.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. McAteer will be 3:00 pm, Monday, March 7, 2016 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Randy Mellichamp and Rev. Calvin Snipes. Burial will follow at Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, Monday at the funeral home and other times at the home of his sister, Michelle Barrett, 587 Grace Avenue, Lancaster.
