Tony
Martin
August 20, 1959 – May 15, 2025
LANCASTER, SC – Charles Anthony Martin, known as Tony, passed away at the age of 65 on May 15, 2025. Born on August 20, 1959, in Atlanta, GA, Tony lived a life filled with dedication to family, community, and faith.
He retired from MUSC Lancaster, where he was known for his sense of humor and kind heart. Tony was a proud member of Jackson Lodge 53, part of the Masons, and a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church. His faith and fellowship were central to his life.
Tony loved the simple joys—fishing on peaceful days and spending time with his grandchildren, especially playing with his beloved Noah and Harland.
At the heart of his world was Karen Martin, the love of his life and his constant companion. Their bond was an example of enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, support, and deep affection—a love that sustained them through every season.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Karen Martin and his children, Christal Cooper (Thomas), Joseph Martin, Ray Jones (Nancy), and Shelley Grier (Terrance). He was a proud grandfather to many grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy.
Tony is also survived by his siblings: Steve Martin, Donnie Martin (Shawn), and Donna Kay Whitiker. He was preceded in death by his sibling, Jimmy Martin, and his daughter, Shannon Lemon.
He was the beloved son of Mary and Thomas Griffin.
Tony's presence, wisdom, crazy stories and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
