SPARTANBURG, SC –Mr. Mark Anthony "Tony" Horton, age 43, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023. He was born September 24, 1979, in Lancaster, the son of Addie Morris Smith and the late Mark Andrew Horton. Tony was employed with Rick Mize Construction for over 15 years. He was a hard worker who enjoyed going to work every day and loved what he did. Tony was a truthful man with the biggest heart who always wanted to do the right thing by everyone. He loved fishing and telling jokes. He was the biggest jokester. Tony loved his family dearly and enjoyed his time spent with them.

Tony is survived by his daughter, Amanda Cooper; his mother, Addie Smith; and one grandchild on the way who was loved so much already by Grandpa.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Horton; and two brothers, Gerald Wayne Horton, and Michael Andrew Horton.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Tony will be 3:00 pm Saturday, February 25, 2023, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Brian Barton. Burial will follow at a later date at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Burgess Funeral Home, RE: Tony Horton, PO Box 1743, Lancaster, SC 29721 to help with funeral expenses.
