INDIAN LAND, SC – Mr. Timothy "Tim" T. Fanning, age 66, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023. He was born February 10, 1956 in Brooklyn, NY. Tim was the son of the late Michael Fanning and the late Elizabeth Howlett Fanning, and was the husband of Maureen Doody Fanning. He retired from The New York City Police Department Transit Bureau after 20 years of proudly providing and protecting. He enjoyed the outdoors, animals, and was amazing at trivia. Tim was a huge movie buff, and enjoyed watching all genres of films and tv shows. He loved cooking, especially barbecuing for his wife, children, and grandkids. Tim was a family man through and through, selflessly making sure that everyone's needs were met. He loved his family dearly and was so happy to have moved to South Carolina.

Tim is survived by his wife of 46 years; Maureen Fanning; his two daughters, Jennifer Smith (Christopher), and Amy Fanning; his three grandchildren, Timothy Fanning, Victoria Smith, and Riley Smith; his brother, Thomas Fanning (Karen); his sister-in-laws Cathy Lorenzo and Ginny Murray; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Elizabeth Fanning; two brothers, William Fanning and Michael Fanning; and two sisters, Marion Fanning and Marie Abell.

The Celebration of Life Service for Tim will be 2:00pm Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm – 2:00pm , two hours prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home.
