LANCASTER, SC::::::::: Mr. Thomas Clay Watson, Jr., age 82, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016. He was born January 10, 1934 in Lancaster, the son of the late Thomas Clay Watson, Sr. and Mattie Rayfield Watson and was the husband of the late Jane Bailes Watson. Mr. Watson received his Masters Degree in Business from Winthrop University. He retired from Springs Industries as the Program Director for Better Methods. He later established Montex, Inc. which was a screen printing business. Mr. Watson was instrumental in the organization of the Lancaster County Marine Corps League. He was a charter and life member, and Past Commandant of the Marine Corps League, Lancaster County Leathernecks, Detachment #1169 and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Mr. Watson is survived by a daughter, Lisa J. Watson of Lancaster; a sister, Judy W. Tollison and her husband, Dr. Boyce G. Tollison of Easley; two grandchildren, Jonathan and Matthew Goebel and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a son, Thomas Clay Watson, III.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Watson will be 2:00 pm Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the graveside of Westside City Cemetery by Rev. Randy Hatcher, Dr. Boyce Tollison and Mr. Archie Sweet.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service and suggest in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Lancaster, PO Box 670, Lancaster, SC 29721.
