LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Thomas "Tom" Furtado Rosa, Jr., age 80, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024. He was born September 21, 1943, in Newport, RI, a son of the late Thomas Furtado Rosa, Sr. and the late Dorothy Anna Vieira Rosa and was the loving husband of Wanda Koslowski Rosa. Mr. Rosa was a retired draftsman from Raytheon.  He enjoyed classic cars, and car shows where he won many first-place trophies for his custom 36 Ford 5-window coupe and was a member of the Bay State Auto Club.  He was an avid gardener, handyman, and jack of all trades, and enjoyed building things.   Some of his projects included building his own home, tool sheds, and garages.  Mr. Rosa was a member of Belair United Methodist Church.

Mr. Rosa is survived by his adoring wife of 36 years, Wanda Rosa; his two daughters, Susan Mello and Jennifer Fitch; his stepson, Richard Pitkanen (Mary); his special granddaughter, RaJanée Peterson; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Kenneth Rosa.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Rosa will be at 11:00 am Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Belair United Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Heather Baird and Pastor Mallory Nickerson.  Inurnment will take place in Rhode Island at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.  Family and friends are invited to the family life center after the service.
