LANCASTER, SC :::::::::Mrs. Thelma Likens, age 92, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the home of her daughter. She was born November 11, 1922 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Troy Reynolds Cauthen and Fredrick Ghent Cauthen and was the wife of the late Percy O. (PO) Likens. Mrs. Likens worked in textiles, and was a supervisor of housekeeping at Springs Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, pretty flowers, spending time with friends, family and grandchildren. Many called her Colonel. Mrs. Likens loved traveling. She had visited all 49 states except Alaska. She was a dedicated member of New Hope Baptist Church, Senior Circle Group at Springs Hospital, and the Leroy Springs Senior Citizen Group.
Mrs. Likens is survived by a son, Marvin Eugene Shehane and his wife Kat, two daughters, Stella Funderburk-West, and Judy S. Summer and her husband Bob, four grandsons, Scott Munn and his fiance' Tabatha, Brad Munn and his wife Stacey, Troy Funderburk and his fiance' Ilean and Mark Shehane, three granddaughters, Pansy Wilson, Kim Funderburk and Carla Bell and her husband Scott, ten great- grandchildren, Erin Munn, Justin Shehane, James Shehane, Mitchell Bell and his wife Natalie, Allison Bell, Pierce Funderburk, Abby Bell, Alyssa Christopher, and Nicholas and Natalee Munn and a great-great grandchild, Mavrick L. Bell
Mrs. Likens was preceded in death by a sister, Marie C. Harper, the late husbands, Johnny Shehane and the late Carl A. Ingram.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Likens will be Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 3:00 pm at New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Patrick Clark and Rev. Mendle Baker with burial at Lancaster Memorial Park.
