LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::: Mrs.Thelma Jaye Leagan Huffman age 75 of 2554 Morningside Drive died Sunday May 29, 2011 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born March 15, 1936 in Mooresville, N.C. a daughter of the late Andrew B. Leagan and Mary H. Blackmon Leagan and was the wife of the late Carroll Phillip Huffman, Sr. She retired from the Lancaster County Health Department accounting department, a member of the Ramblin Red Hat Club and was a member of Douglas Presbyterian Church. Jaye was most recently recognized by Lancaster County Council as being a lifelong citizen of Lancaster County, secretary for the Jet Setters for 5 years, has been a faithful member of Douglas Presbyterian Church for 35 years, was a loyal wife to the late Carroll Huffman who was the Lancaster County Administrator for many years and proud and dedicated mother of two daughters Nancy Sapp and Kathy BellMrs. Huffman is survived by 2 daughters Nancy Huffman Sapp and husband Danny of Pageland, S.C. and Kathy Huffman Bell and husband Sam of Lake Wateree 1 grandson Robert Purser of Spartanburg and a special part of our family Sam Byrum. Mrs. Huffman was pre-ceded in death by a son Carroll Phillip "Phil" Huffman, Jr. and 1 brother Ernest Leagan. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Huffman will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Douglas Presbyterian Church Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mrs. Huffman will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggests memorials be made to Douglas Presbyterian Church Building Fund
