IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ted
Bowers
February 26, 1946 – January 6, 2025
LANCASTER, SC – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ted Roosevelt Bowers, aged 78, of Lancaster County, South Carolina, on January 6, 2025. Born on February 26, 1946, Ted was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who touched the lives of everyone he met with his kindness and warmth.
Ted dedicated over four decades to his profession as an electrician, with his work on the World Trade Center Buildings standing as a testament to his skill and dedication. After retirement, he returned to work for the Lancaster County School System as a bus driver for special needs children, a role he cherished as he loved seeing all his kids each day. In addition to his distinguished career, Ted had a deep passion for farming, particularly enjoying his time with cows and horses. Ted also had a smile on his face and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Amy Bowers, who was the light of his life. His legacy lives on through his three children: Sergio Bucca, Loren Knight and her husband Tink Knight, and Ted Bowers, Jr. and his wife Veronica Bowers, who will forever cherish the love and wisdom he imparted to them. Ted was a proud and doting grandfather to Blake Knight (Portia), Brandon Knight, and Ted Bowers, III aka Tripp, and a cherished great-grandfather to Racquel, Pepper, Sawyer, and Reed Knight, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his dear brothers, Toy and Condor Bowers, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Viola Bowers; his brothers Bennie, Eugene, Herman, Glen, Anderson, Charles, and Leo; his sisters Betty Allman, Mary Ormand, Georgia Bowers, and Mildred Duncan; and his grandson Dillon Knight.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at New Hope Baptist Church. Visitation will commence at 10:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM, with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, to honor Ted, please donate to New Hope Baptist Church.
