LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Taylor Justus Burgess, age 31, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022. He was born May 18, 1990, in Clarksburg, WV, the son of Rev. Brian Keith Burgess and Lois Ann Burgess. Taylor was a 2008 graduate of Buford High School and attended Winthrop University. He was currently employed with SGS (Haile Gold Mine) as a Fire Assay Tech and earlier worked at Edgewater Golf Course. Taylor loved music, writing poems and stories, Marvel comics, and watching the Gamecocks and Panthers. Bella, his fur baby, was his world and he loved her just as a parent loves a child.

Taylor is survived by his parents, Brian and Lois Burgess; his fur baby, Bella; and his sister, Anna Hilliard and her husband, Jerry, Jr.

The Celebration of Life Service for Taylor will be 2:00 pm Saturday, April 23, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Brian K. Burgess. Burial will follow at Kershaw City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Burgess Funeral Home and again from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Saturday, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Taylor Burgess Foundation, PO Box 887, Lancaster, SC 29721 for funding for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (RSD).
