LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Susan Elaine Rowell Pittman, age 63, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026. She was born September 17, 1962, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Lonnie Granville Rowell and Jessie Elizabeth Hudson Rowell and was the loving wife of Felix Wayne Pittman.

Susan was a dedicated registered nurse who always placed the needs of others before her own and touched countless lives with her kindness and compassion. She graduated from USCL with an Associate Degree in Nursing. Her love for the elderly and caring for others was shown in how she cared for those in the nursing home, hospital, home health, and adult daycare.

Susan enjoyed fishing, going to the mountains to get apples, flowers, riding with her husband on their three-wheeler motorcycle, and cooking especially her macaroni and cheese. One of Susan’s favorite things to do was “Saircy”, which was giving a little gift from her heart unexpectedly to someone she loved and cared for.

Susan is survived by her husband of 38 years, Felix Pittman; her brothers, Brian Rowell (Cathy) and Mark Rowell (Angel); her sister, Gwyn Franklin (Mark Hahn); nieces an nephews, Ben Rowell (Hannah), James Rowell, Cassidy Rowell, Ember Rowell, Beth Sansone (Jay), and Michelle Funderburk; great nieces, Olivia Rowell, Lola Sansone, Micailyn Funderburk, and Brittany Wagener; and sister-in-law, Jennifer Croft and her two daughters.

A Visitation to celebrate the life of Susan will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Burgess Funeral Home.
