LANCASTER, SC –Mr. Steven Douglas Smith, age 64, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024. He was born November 29, 1959, in Lancaster, the son of Edith Taylor and the late Bennie Smith and was the husband of Karon Annette Outen Smith. Steven loved riding his motorcycle, fishing, spending time with his grandson, and his fur baby, Brutus.

Steven is survived by his wife of 17 years, Karon Smith; his son, Dylan McDonald (Madison); three daughters, Jessica McDonald (PJ), Sandy Dassaro (Joe), and Kayla Smith; six grandchildren, Joseph Dassaro, Jaeton Smith, Jasmine Dassaro, Lindsey Boone, Mia Dassaro, and Colton Boone; his mother, Edith Taylor (Jerry); and his brother, Rusty Smith (April).

He was preceded in death by his father, Bennie Smith.

The Celebration of Life Service for Steven will be 3:00 pm Sunday, February 11, 2024, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home.
