LANCASTER, SC – Stephen Edward Drogus; our beloved Steve passed away on September 10, 2022, at the age of 72, surrounded by his wife and daughters . Steve was the loving and devoted husband of Maureen (nee Nolan); loving father to Tracy Nugent and Jennifer Sutliffe (Bennett). He was blessed to have spent his final days with his grandchildren who loved him and admired him deeply: Emma, Colin, Alex, Kyra, Olivia, and Callie. He was a dear brother to Danielle Howell. Steve was also very loved by his sister and brother-in-law Pam and Kelly Brennan, his son-in-law Kevin Nugent, his nieces, nephew, and cousins. Steve was a loyal friend and a dedicated career/life coach to many. Family was everything to him and he enjoyed playing golf, fishing, camping, poker, watching movies and sports and loved animals, especially his sweet dog, Linus.
Steve held a Bachelor's Degree in Management from Baldwin Wallace University and an MBA in Industrial Relations from Case Western Reserve University where he began his career as Director of Human Resources. He continued his career in Cleveland, Ohio as VP of Human Resources for the Mt. Sinai Healthcare System and then he and Maureen moved to New York City where he accepted an exciting new position as SVP, Human Resources for NYU Medical Center. He spent the last 20 years as an Executive Coach to CEOs in the Washington DC area. His genuine personality & approachable style not to mention his dry sense of humor will be sorely missed.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Vannatta and Leroy Drogus and his in-laws Tom and Dorothy Nolan.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Virginia at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region PO Box 470408, Charlotte, NC 28247 or Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Rd, SW Lilburn, Ga 30047.
