LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::: Mrs. Stella Mae Funderburk Nix, age 77, of 2459 Deertrack Circle, died March 10, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Nix was born April 23, 1933 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Ed Funderburk and Rosella Knight Funderburk and was the wife of the late Newton M. Nix. Mrs. Nix retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mrs. Nix is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Robinson and her husband Johnny and their son, Jay of Lancaster, a son, Lee Knight of Lancaster, a brother, Ed Funderburk and his wife Patricia of Jefferson, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Mrs. Nix was preceded in death by a sister, Lou Eason. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Nix will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 12, 2011 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home by Rev. Freddie Melton. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The Family of Mrs. Nix will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggests memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 3052 Taxahaw Road, Lancaster SC 29720.
