INDIAN LAND, SC ~ Mrs. Shirley Ann Harris St. Clair, age 85, beloved wife, mother, and nanny, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026. She was born on October 30, 1940, in Lando, SC, a daughter of the late William Leroy Harris and the late Ethel Louise Hefner Harris, and was the loving wife of Harry Eugene St. Clair.

She was happiest right at home, where she could enjoy the company of her beloved pets, especially her cat, Jeffery, and her poodle, Spanky. She looked forward to Friday nights spent playing BINGO with her friends and loved cheering on her Atlanta Braves.

After moving back to South Carolina around 1980, Shirley often talked about her beloved Florida and never quite gave up the idea of moving back one day. She found comfort and happiness in the familiar, the simple pleasures, and the people and pets she loved dearly.

Shirley is lovingly survived by her husband of over 60 years, Harry; her daughter, Onda Ashley; her son, Mark Barnhardt; three grandchildren, Lacy Courtney (David), Taylor Ashley (Mikayla), and Katherine Counts; eight great-grandchildren, Ellie, Noah, JD, Luke, Gunner, Hazel, Knox, and Kash; her nieces, Tammy Penegar and Donna Bragg; sisters-in-law, Judy Mull and Sue Harris; other siblings-in-law; and extended family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Ethel; and brothers, Don Harris and Ronnie West.

The Celebration of Life Service for Shirley will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in the fellowship hall at Covenant Baptist Church in Lancaster, SC.
