LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Shirley Kay Brooks Adams, age 70, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024. She was born March 5, 1954, in Lancaster, SC, daughter of the late Leon Charles Brooks and Helen Johnson Brooks and was the wife of John B. Adams. Mrs. Adams was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she loved making them laugh. She enjoyed going to the beach and the mountains. Mrs. Adams was a member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church.  She loved the Lord and loved telling others about Jesus.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband of 51 years, John Adams; her son, Benjie Scott Adams (Rhonda); her daughter, Jamie A. Knight (Andy); six grandchildren, Trent McCants, Austin Craig (Payton), Andrew Knight, Kayla Adams, Hayley Adams, and Matthew Knight; two great grandchildren, Jason Craig and Raelyn Craig; three brothers, Thomas Brooks (Geraldine), Thelbert Brooks, and Mark Brooks (Terri); a sister, Betty Rabon; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Brooks; brother-in-law, Gene Rabon; and two sisters-in-law, Juanita Brooks and Myra Brooks.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Adams will be 12:00 noon Monday, August 19, 2024, at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Tim Larrimore and Mr. Wayne Snipes.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, in the sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to Liberty Freewill Baptist Church, Building Fund, PO Box 2094, Lancaster, SC 29721.
