LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Shelby Jean Knight Small, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 at her home.  She was born in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Rufus Miller Knight and Carrie Plyler Knight and was the wife of Richard Small.  Mrs. Small loved working in her yard, especially with her flowers.  She enjoyed shopping with her daughter every weekend and just loved life.  She loved animals, especially her grand-pup, Kassidy.  Mrs. Small attended Grace Freewill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Small is survived by her husband, Richard Small; and her daughter, Tonya S. McWatters and her husband, Brian.

Mrs. Small was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Rufus Knight, Jr., Ray Miller Knight, and James Howard Knight; and three sisters, Frances Farias, Brenda Mackey, and Kathleen Knight Small.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Small will be 12:00 pm Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Grace Freewill Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Roger Anders and Rev. Larry Plyler.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, one hour prior to service, in the church fellowship hall and suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Lancaster Co. Relay for Life, 1901 Brunswick Ave. #100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
