LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. Shannon Blake Benton, age 31, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013. He was born August 13, 1982 in Lancaster County, the son of the late William Blake Benton and Sandra "Sissy" Kay Snipes Benton. Mr. Benton was disabled and had served in the National Guard Reserve.

Mr. Benton is survived by his wife, Allison Rae Blackmon, his children, Cameron Charles Benton and Emilie Grace Benton, his adopted mother, Betty McCorkle, a sister, Amy Lamb, brother, Jim Baker, step brother, Todd McCorkle, and step sister, Regina Helms all of Lancaster, and paternal grandmother, Nell Horton of McBee.

Mr. Benton was preceded in death a sister, Kelly Ann Benton Reeves.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Benton will be 3:00 pm Friday, October 18, 2013 at Burgess Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mitch Ingram. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The Family of Mr. Benton will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm Friday, October 18, 2013 at Burgess Funeral Home and the family suggests memorial contributions to Freedom Freewill Baptist Church, 1697 N. Rocky River Road, Lancaster, SC 29720
