LANCASTER, SC ~ Selene Gutierrez, age 5, passed away Friday, February 7, 2020 at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Selene was born August 21, 2014 in Lancaster, SC, the daughter of Jose de Jesus Gutierrez Santos and Marlene Bautista Vargas.  Selene was a beautiful 5-year-old little girl that lost her battle to cancer.  She loved spending time with her grandparents and most of all falling asleep in her father's arms.  Selene loved her school, McDonald Green Elementary, and her friends in kindergarten class.  She also enjoyed playing with her My Little Ponies, and her dog "Star". Selene's favorite movie was Frozen. She loved Elsa and the Frozen theme song, "Let It Go" and enjoyed the worship songs at church.  Selene had a great sense of humor, and was a very happy, loving little girl.  She will be missed by her family and friends.

Those left to cherish Selene's memory include her parents, Jose de Jesus Gutierrez Santos and Marlene Bautista Vargas; a brother, Brian Gutierrez; a sister, Ana Karen Martinez; her grandparents, Jose Luis Gutierrez Cabrera and Irene Santos Aguilar; and a large extended family.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Selene will be 11:00 am Monday, February 10, 2020 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Selene Gutierrez de 5 años, fallecio El viernes 7 de FEBRERO del año 2020 en Levin Hospital de niños en Charlotte, NC. Selene era la Hija de Jose De Jesus Gutierrez Santos y Marlene Bautista Vargas, Selene era una Hermosa niña de 5 años que perdio su batalla contra el cancer le encantaba pasar tiempo con sus abuelos y sobre todo, quedarse dormida en Los brazos de su papa, tambien le gustaba jugar y ver su serie de "My Little ponies" y jugar con su perrita "Estrellita". La pelicula favorita de Selene era "Frozen"; Amaba a Elsa y su cancion de "let it go". Al igual que disfrutaba escuchar cansiones de adoracion en la iglesia. Selene Gutierrez tenia un gran sentido de humor, era una niña muy Feliz una niña con un gran corazon y que le robo El corazon de muchas personas con tan solo sonreirles se quedaba con su cariño y amor de ellos, una niña guerrera quien ella no se daba por bencidad tal facilmente sin dar lucha. Ella Sera extrañada por su familia y amigos...

Los que quedan para apreciar la memoria de Selene incluyen a sus padres, Jose De Jesus Gutierrez Santos y Marlene Bautista Vargas; Un hermano Brian Jose Gutierrez una hermana, Ana Karen Martinez; y Los abuelos, Jose Luis Gutierrez  E Irene Santos Aguilar; Y una gran familia extendida.
