LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Sarah Bell Owens, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Lancaster Health & Rehab. She was born November 4, 1928, in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of the late James Stewart Bell and Annie Belle Harper Bell.  Mrs. Owens loved to travel, she has travel to many states across the United States. Her favorite place to vacation was at the beach. She was a people person who loved to visit and talk to others. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with her family. Mrs. Owens was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Owens is survived by two sons, Danny Jack Burch (Sue) of Lancaster, and James Michael Burch (Jeannie) of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren, Debbie Burch, Danya Eason, Michelle Huffstickle, Danny J. Burch, Jr., Crystal Lords, Terri Storey, Gaston Burch (Miranda), Larry Sims, Phillip Sims, and Jason Burch Turner; 11 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Owens, Sr.; and a son, Richard Emory Burch; her sister, Ethel Jackson; and her three brothers, William R. Bell, Emory Gaston Bell, and James Stewart Bell.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Owens will be 11:00 am on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Steve Stewart. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am-11:00am, one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 128 Providence Rd., Lancaster, SC 29720.
