ROCK HILL, SC - Sarah Jayne Marshall, 34, formerly of Lancaster, passed away August 30, 2024 at the Wayne Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, September 3, 2024 at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Lancaster.

Born September 13, 1989, she was the daughter of the late Ray Hammond Marshall and the late Linda Ghent Marshall. Sarah grew up in Lancaster and received a certificate of completion from Lancaster High in 2011. She is a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and frequented most of the popular restaurants around town. She loved all foods, especially chimichangas, milkshakes and Chick-fil-A. She has always loved Elvis, and an Elvis impersonator performed at her 20th birthday party. Sarah faced many challenges throughout her short life but loved God and everyone she met. She has lived in a residential group home in Rock Hill since 2018 and attended a workshop five days a week. She loved working puzzles and sticker books and playing with squishy balls. She could make friends and family laugh constantly with her style of humor.

Sarah is survived by several uncles and aunts: Ted and Tina Marshall of Johns Island, SC; Debbie and Bruce Barrett of Lancaster, Kathy and Eddy Patterson of Rock Hill and Sharon King of Lancaster; grandfather, Jim Kirk of Lancaster, and several special cousins, Brandy Mazzella of Simpsonville, SC, Mark Barrett of Matthews, NC and Karmen Barrett of Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by her parents; paternal grandparents, Ferris Marshall and Jayne Marshall Kirk; maternal grandparents Harry Wade and Eunie Ghent and an uncle, Rick Ghent.
