LANCASTER, SC::::::::::: Mrs. Sara Marshall Hunter, age 92, died Monday evening, November 10, 2008. She was born December 7, 1915 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Thomas R. Marshall and Florence M. Marshall and was the wife of the late William Clarence Hunter. Mrs. Hunter retired from Springs Industries, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Oasis Club and White Springs Baptist Church. For many years she also enjoyed volunteering at the reception desk at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family and her friends and delighted in spending quality time with them. Mrs. Hunter was survived by a son, Bill Hunter, Jr. and his wife Jill of Simpsonville, 2 daughters, Martha H. Harper and her husband Sammy of Lancaster and Lennie H. Montgomery of Charlotte, 2 brothers, Gene Marshall and Lewis Marshall both of Lancaster, 2 sisters, Lavonia Ackerman and Martha Barrineau also of Lancaster, 4 grandchildren, Rebecca M. Grubbs and her husband David, John W. Montgomery and his wife Lisa, Erik S. Blackmon and his wife Ann and Kevin M. Hunter and his wife April and 8 great grandchildren, Kirby, Peyton and Kendall Montgomery, Caroline Grubbs, Emma, Evan and Emma Blackmon and Grant Hunter.Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by a sister Margaret Huckabee, 3 brothers, Bryant R. Marshall, Cecil Marshall and J.B. Marshall and 2 son-in-laws, Charles H. Montgomery and James R. Blackmon.The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mrs. Hunter will be 11:00 am, Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Lancaster Memorial Park by Rev. Elton Lane with burial to follow. The Family of Mrs. Hunter will receive friends immediately following the service and at other times at the home of her daughter, Martha Harper, 316 Community Lane. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to White Springs Baptist Church, 1249 Grace Avenue, Lancaster SC 29720 or a Charity of One's Choice.
