LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Sara Newman Robinson Hagins, age 90, formerly of Camellia Circle, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021, at Morningside of Lancaster.  She was born September 15, 1930, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Robert Mack Robinson and Eunice Plaxco Robinson and was the wife of the late Lawrence Ellison "Sonny" Hagins. Mrs. Hagins was a graduate of Lancaster High School, Class of 1947. She received her bachelor's degree from Erskine College, Class of 1951 and her master's degree from Winthrop University, Class of 1972. She taught Math and was a Lancaster High School Campus II Librarian. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading and needlework. She also loved baking cookies and bread to share with family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a very active member of First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Hagins is survived by her sons, Mack Hagins (Whitney) of Bolton, MA, Sam Hagins (Vicky) of Amarillo, TX, Jeff Hagins (Gedie) of Lancaster; a daughter, Vickie Hagins Chandler (Joe) of Ninety Six, SC; seven grandchildren, Susan Chandler Albon (Brian), Melissa Chandler Murphy (Ryan), Sara Ashley Hagins, Ellison Hagins, Lauren Hagins, Andy Hagins and Mike Hagins; four great grandchildren; a special niece, Greta Robinson Cureton; and a sister in law, Clara Robinson.

Mrs. Hagins was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her siblings, Paul P. Robinson (Georgie), R. Mack Robinson (Ann), Margaret R. Smith (Robert) and D. Lester Robinson.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Hagins will be 11:00 am Tuesday morning, July 6, 2021, at First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Neal Woods.  Burial will be at 10:15 am Tuesday at St. Luke United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and suggest memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 608, Lancaster, SC  29721.
