LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::: Mrs. Sara Margaret Mullis Belk, age 79, of 994 Sherwood Circle went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 10, 2011. She was born June 5, 1932 in Peachland, NC, a daughter of the late S.W. "Worley" Mullis and Mary Ashe Horne Mullis and was the wife of Louie Thomas Belk. She retired from Springs Memorial Hospital and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.Mrs. Belk is survived by her husband Louie Belk of the home, 2 brothers, Fred Mullis and his wife Evelyn of Gaffney, SC and Sherrill Mullis of Lancaster, many nieces and nephews; Sherrie M. Bailey, Samuel Mullis, Diane Mahaffey, Angelia Mullis, Joy Humphry, and their children and grandchildren along with many church members and friends. Mrs. Belk was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Carl Mullis, J.C. Clint Mullis, Marvin Mullis and David Mullis, Sr. and a sister, Pearl M. Whitley. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Belk will be 2:00 pm Monday, June 13, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church by Rev. Dr. R. Shane Owens. Burial will follow at a later date at Peachland City Cemetery in Peachland, NC. The Family of Mrs. Belk will receive friends immediately following the service in the Parlor and in lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church, Sound System, PO Box 990, Lancaster, SC 29721.
